Alt N S I on Mac: New Slide menu in PowerPoint
To open the New Slide menu with Alt N S I in PowerPoint on a Mac, install LightningXL, tap Option, then type N, S, I. The same keys as Windows, with the same result.

Install LightningXL
Download LightningXL, then follow the instructions. Setup takes about two minutes.
Select what to act on
Select the slide, text or object the command should apply to.
Tap Option, then type N S I
Tap ⌥ on its own to show the key tips, then N for Insert, S I for New Slide. That opens the New Slide menu; the next key tips show the items in it.
What Alt N S I does
Alt N S I opens the New Slide menu on the Insert tab of PowerPoint. Type one more key to pick an item:
