Alt N S I N on Mac: Content with Caption in PowerPoint

To run Content with Caption with Alt N S I N in PowerPoint on a Mac, install LightningXL, tap Option, then type N, S, I, N. The same keys as Windows, with the same result.

Step by step

  1. Install LightningXL

    Download LightningXL, then follow the instructions. Setup takes about two minutes.

  2. Select what to act on

    Select the slide, text or object the command should apply to.

  3. Tap Option, then type N S I N

    Tap on its own to show the key tips, then N for Insert, S I for New Slide, N for Content with Caption.

What Alt N S I N does

Content with Caption sits under Insert › New Slide on the PowerPoint ribbon. On Windows, Alt N S I N runs it from the keyboard. PowerPoint for Mac has the same ribbon but no Alt key, so without LightningXL you click through Insert › New Slide › Content with Caption instead.
