Alt R A U on Mac: Unmerge Cells in Excel
To run Unmerge Cells with Alt R A U in Excel on a Mac, install LightningXL, tap Option, then type R, A, U. The same keys as Windows, with the same result.

Install LightningXL
Download LightningXL, then follow the instructions. Setup takes about two minutes.
Select what to act on
Click a cell, or select the range the command should apply to.
Tap Option, then type R A U
Tap ⌥ on its own to show the key tips, then R for Review, A for Check Accessibility, U for Unmerge Cells.
What Alt R A U does
Unmerge Cells sits under Review › Check Accessibility on the Excel ribbon. On Windows, Alt R A U runs it from the keyboard. Excel for Mac has the same ribbon but no Alt key, so without LightningXL you click through Review › Check Accessibility › Unmerge Cells instead.
