Alt J P F E on Mac: Soft Edges in PowerPoint

To run Soft Edges with Alt J P F E in PowerPoint on a Mac, install LightningXL, tap Option, then type J, P, F, E. The same keys as Windows, with the same result.

Step by step

1. Install LightningXL

   Download LightningXL, then follow the instructions. Setup takes about two minutes.

2. Select what to act on

   Select the slide, text or object the command should apply to.

3. Tap Option, then type J P F E

   Tap ⌥ on its own to show the key tips, then J P for Picture Format, F for Picture Effects, E for Soft Edges.

What Alt J P F E does

Soft Edges sits under Picture Format › Picture Effects on the PowerPoint ribbon. On Windows, Alt J P F E runs it from the keyboard. PowerPoint for Mac has the same ribbon but no Alt key, so without LightningXL you click through Picture Format › Picture Effects › Soft Edges instead.
