To run Rotate Left 90° with Alt J D A Y L in PowerPoint on a Mac, install LightningXL, tap Option, then type J, D, A, Y, L. The same keys as Windows, with the same result.

What Alt J D A Y L does
Rotate Left 90° sits under Shape Format › Rotate on the PowerPoint ribbon. On Windows, Alt J D A Y L runs it from the keyboard. PowerPoint for Mac has the same ribbon but no Alt key, so without LightningXL you click through Shape Format › Rotate › Rotate Left 90° instead.
