Alt H I D on Mac: Duplicate Slide in PowerPoint
To run Duplicate Slide with Alt H I D in PowerPoint on a Mac, install LightningXL, tap Option, then type H, I, D. The same keys as Windows, with the same result.

Install LightningXL
Download LightningXL, then follow the instructions. Setup takes about two minutes.
Select what to act on
Select the slide, text or object the command should apply to.
Tap Option, then type H I D
Tap ⌥ on its own to show the key tips, then H for Home, I for New Slide, D for Duplicate Slide.
What Alt H I D does
Duplicate Slide sits under Home › New Slide on the PowerPoint ribbon. On Windows, Alt H I D runs it from the keyboard. PowerPoint for Mac has the same ribbon but no Alt key, so without LightningXL you click through Home › New Slide › Duplicate Slide instead.
