Alt H L T on Mac: Top/Bottom Rules menu in Excel
To open the Top/Bottom Rules menu with Alt H L T in Excel on a Mac, install LightningXL, tap Option, then type H, L, T. The same keys as Windows, with the same result.
Step by step
Install LightningXL
Download LightningXL, then follow the instructions. Setup takes about two minutes.
Select what to act on
Click a cell, or select the range the command should apply to.
Tap Option, then type H L T
Tap ⌥ on its own to show the key tips, then H for Home, L for Conditional Formatting, T for Top/Bottom Rules. That opens the Top/Bottom Rules menu; the next key tips show the items in it.
What Alt H L T does
Alt H L T opens the Top/Bottom Rules menu on the Home tab of Excel. Type one more key to pick an item:
- ⌥HLTT Top 10 Items
- ⌥HLTP Top 10 %
- ⌥HLTB Bottom 10 Items
- ⌥HLTO Bottom 10 %
- ⌥HLTA Above Average
- ⌥HLTV Below Average
